Storybook: INVISIBLE AESTHETICS: How to Achieve a Natural Look with Non-Surgical Treatments

Expert insight into the most popular treatments combining safety, advanced technology and a personalised approach, by Dr Nikola Milojević

In aesthetic medicine, the ultimate goal is to achieve natural, harmonious results without compromising facial expression or character. At Poliklinika Milojević, the focus is on non-surgical treatments that combine safety, advanced technology and a personalised approach — from Botox and dermal fillers to biostimulators and laser treatments.

It is important for patients to retain their authenticity, while the results should remain subtle and almost undetectable, yet at the same time fresh and long-lasting. The expertise of Dr Nikola Milojević and his medical team ensures that every treatment is a carefully measured intervention rather than an excessive correction.

As Dr Nikola Milojević explains, aesthetic medicine is no longer simply about adding volume or tightening the skin — the face should look rested, natural and refreshed.

"The future of non-surgical aesthetics lies in subtle, strategically performed treatments. I was performing non-surgical nose corrections with fillers as early as 18 years ago, and today, with modern technologies, we can achieve lifting, revitalisation and rejuvenation without any downtime” explains Dr Milojević, who regularly emphasises that non-surgical treatments can, in many cases, replace surgical procedures.

FRESHNESS AND KNOWING THE LIMITS

Surgical procedures are invasive, require a longer recovery period and carry risks such as scarring, nerve damage and infection. With non-surgical methods such as Botox, fillers, biostimulators and laser treatments, it is possible to achieve almost comparable results in facial contouring, eyelid lifting and nose correction, with minimal risk.

The "more is better” trend is gradually disappearing, says the specialist, as today’s patients increasingly want a natural and harmonious appearance. Education plays a key role in this process.

Patients, Dr Milojević adds, often believe that the problem lies in wrinkles or volume loss, when in fact it may be related to skin quality, under-eye concerns or visible capillaries.

"Some patients, following the recommendation of a specialist physician, combine Botox and fillers. For example, Botox can be used to achieve a ‘lip flip’, while volume can be restored with fillers” he explains.

Social media and celebrity trends make the situation even more challenging, as they strongly influence our perception of beauty. Heavy makeup and filters alter the appearance of the face, while AI-generated images create unrealistic expectations.

"People want to look perfect, like influencers, which can sometimes lead to extremes and overly inflated faces. Our role is to explain, set appropriate boundaries and offer safe options so that the results remain natural and long-lasting” says Dr Nikola Milojević.

The balance between trends and a patient’s individual needs is actually quite clear. Trends come and go, but the goal remains a natural and harmonious result.

"Patients who trust the expertise and artistic approach of our team at Poliklinika Milojević are naturally drawn to results that are elegant and authentic” explains the specialist.

Throughout this process, however, ethics play a crucial role and cannot be overlooked. Dr Nikola Milojević generally avoids performing aesthetic treatments on patients under the age of 18. In cases involving minors, procedures are performed only with parental consent and when they are genuinely necessary. Patients with serious psychological difficulties or a pronounced desire for excessive changes are generally not accepted for treatment.

A PERSONALISED APPROACH

"It is important to us that no one leaves our clinic looking like a caricature” says Dr Milojević, emphasising that only an experienced and thoughtful approach can deliver long-term, natural results.

"It is essential to create an individual treatment plan with each patient and agree on how the treatment will be performed and maintained. When treatments are performed correctly from the very beginning, maintenance becomes simple and, in some cases, almost unnecessary. Regular maintenance, once or twice a year, can help achieve long-lasting and natural results” says Dr Milojević.

By combining all of the above, the result is, as the specialist explains, a harmonious, rested, fresh, natural and elegant appearance — the foundation of the invisible aesthetics philosophy that is at the heart of every treatment at Poliklinika Milojević.
